Three cases illustrate the importance of careful design of these skin flaps to enable effective execution: Z-plasty for a prominent depressed scar of the dorsal nose, a nasolabial flap for an alar defect, and a keystone flap for a large defect at a complex site that would otherwise be reconstructed by a skin graft or indirect flap.
