There have been major advances in the field of non-surgi- cal skin rejuvenation in recent years. The Emerge™ Frac- tional 1410 nm diode laser is one of the latest fractionated non-ablative lasers to be available in clinical practice. It has the advantages of being portable, relatively painless, and having minimal side effects and downtime. Fractional lasers use microbeams of energy to treat a ‘fraction’ of the skin at a time, creating columns of injury surrounded by normal skin. This stimulates the body ’ s natural healing process, increasing collagen production resulting in smoother, younger looking skin. The Emerge™laser can be used to improve skin tone and texture, as well as treating a number of conditions including photodamage, scars and stretch marks. This presentation will summarize our experience with this new laser.
